Genio therapy is a mask-free option that works by stimulating the hypoglossal nerve on both sides of the tongue to contract the tongue muscles and help keep the airway open throughout the night.
Genio is an FDA-approved therapy for moderate to severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). The Genio System combines a battery-free stimulator with a sleep wearable that externally powers the device.
The implantable stimulator is placed under the chin during a one-time outpatient surgical procedure. The sleep wearable combines a disposable patch with an external battery, also called an activation chip, worn under the chin while sleeping.
Genio therapy is activated approximately 8 weeks after the procedure. Once activated, therapy can be controlled through an optional smartphone app that offers device usage tracking and the ability to adjust therapy within a predefined range.
The activation chip is charged daily using a small portable charger that can be used wherever convenient, including while traveling.

The implantable stimulator is placed under the chin during a one-time outpatient surgical procedure. The battery-free design works with the Genio sleep wearable to deliver therapy during sleep.
